Mail Time! Plus Some Fun Announcements

Hey, friends! Before I get started with today's post, I just wanted to say a few things.

1) Big shout out to CERC over at Cercalicious for nominating me for the Kreativ Blogger Award! She's one of my fellow Her Campus bloggers and she writes about everything from food to makeup. If you visit, be sure to tell her I said hi! :)

2) I will be at the Her Campus National Intercollegiate Conference this July in New York City! The HC Conference is annual and happens in late July (this year it is Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th) where college girls can meet up with the Her Campus bloggers and writers for the Her Campus website, as well as go to presentations by well-established women speakers. Last year was the first annual conference and Windsor Hanger, the President and Publisher of Her Campus, was there, as well as other notable speakers. Bentley is a real role model, and last year she did a presentation on how to start a business and how to achieve your dreams. She's quite inspirational! And there's also a really fun fashion show at the end.

Anyway, I'm getting carried away, but if you would like to come say hi to me, meet other college girls and women, learn a lot, and be inspired, be sure to get your tickets! I  was able to purchase my tickets early, since I am a member of the Her Campus Blogger Network (love my girls!), but tickets will be available to the public soon. Mine were $15, but I am not exactly sure as of yet if the cost will remain the same. I will be sure to let you guys know as soon as tickets are released and what the price is, since tickets are sure to sell out! Saturday is Her-Campus only, but I want to see every single one of you there on Sunday, July 27th! Also, be warned: I like to hug. :) I can't wait to meet you!

Back to what this post was supposed to be about, here are the things I've received in the mail over the past three days! My mother sometimes thinks she lives in a post office from all of the products I get in the mail. Haha!

Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 30 Face & Body Creme ($30 ~ 5 fl oz) - I received this in a trade with a woman on the Subscriptions Anonymous Facebook Group. If you're not a member, you should really join! It's a lot of fun (we cackle like a bunch of old hens over the silliest things) and we can share our obsession over beauty products! This is mainly for people who are a subscriber to a monthly box (ex. Ipsy, Birchbox, Graze, Pop Sugar), whether it be beauty-related or not. I'm on there all the time, so if you like, come visit!

Wow, again with the rambling. This is a chemical sunscreen, meaning it absorbs the sun's rays as they hit your skin. Vichy is known to be a good brand, so I wanted to test this out. I'll see if I like it and post a review for you all sometime in the future!

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Primer (Free sample: worth approx $4 ~ .1 fl oz) - This primer is very popular, and having large pores myself in my T-zone (darn you combination skin!) I have been wanting to try this for awhile now. I'll let you know my thoughts when I get a chance to test it out. (Also, sorry for the naked nails; I was letting them breathe a bit before I repainted them). Fun fact: did you know they teamed up with Marvel to create a comic book staring the girl on the packaging? How cool is that! Her superpower is pretty lame, but it's still a fun thought. I'm not sure if I want to open the plastic wrap around it (like maybe it will be worth something one day, I don't know), but I actually kind of really want to read it. Decisions, decisions...

This is so intense!

3. L'Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur (Free sample )  - This is supposed to be an "instant skin smoother" that "instantly erase the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pores," according to their website. That's quite a hefty claim, if you ask me. I don't have fine lines or wrinkles (I'm only 20!) but I do have rather large-looking pores. I think this is supposed to be a primer, but it's not totally clear what it is. I'll let you know if they suddenly erase my pores, though that would be quite troublesome seeing as we do need pores...

Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Ultra Shea Shampoo & Conditioner (free sample: worth approximately 67 cents each ~ 1.7 fl oz each) - I have a problem: I'm a free sample addict. I love going on Facebook and signing up to receive free samples of beauty/hair/skincare products. I love getting free things. I love seeing my collection of free things that I really should use because they'll probably expire soon. I don't know what it is, but I have a bit of an obsession. So, here is the most recent free sample I've received. These are pretty generous sizes (usually they're just foil packets) so I was particularly excited about these. I always say I'm saving these free samples for when I travel but I hardly ever travel, so really I'm just in denial. I'll be sure to try them out and let you know what I think! Let me know in the comments below if you're interested in how I go about receiving freebies!

Dr. Scholl's For Her High Heel Insoles ($8 ~ 1 pair) I received these because I am a tester for BzzAgent. I especially wanted to try these out because I hate wearing high heels. Say what? The beauty girl hates heels? No, not exactly. I love looking at them and buying them, I just hate wearing them. I have flat feet that over-pronate (turn in) and any time I spend out of my orthotics (that only really fit in my sneakers) is an unhappy time for my feet. I want to see if these really make high heels comfortable, because if they work for me, I'm sure they'll work for a lot of people (because I'm very picky about being comfortable)! I'll be trying these out in a variety of high heels over the next few weeks, and I'll let you know what I think of them! You'll probably also see a review or two on other sites, like my Facebook, just because the site requires you to create "buzz" about the product. If you're interested in signing up and receiving free products for testing, you can click the link above. I don't get anything for signing up, other than my inner happiness for sharing the opportunity for freebies with you.

Well, that's everything! I hoped you enjoyed this peer into my mailbox and daily life.

Did you receive any fun goodies in the mail recently?
