Monthly Favorites: June 2013

Hey, friends! It's the end of June, and you know what that means! I don't have too many monthly favorites this month, since I've been going "au naturale" most days, and other days I've only been doing a simple routine (see my current routine here and here). The majority of products I've loved this month are ones that I've loved for many months. I've been quite busy with an internship amongst other things so I haven't had too much time to experiment with new products. I won't go too much into detail with the repeated products, just because you guys are probably sick of hearing me talk about them. :)

Skincare:

I did a full review on the Clarisonic Mia II here. I really like it--I feel like it really cleans my face well and helps get every bit of makeup off. I've also recently started using the Acne Cleansing Brush Head, which I think definitely cleans out my pores better than the Sensitive Brush Head. However, it is a little bit harsher on the skin than the Sensitive Head, so I've been using it every other day instead of daily. Unfortunately, I haven't found any cheap alternatives that live up to the same quality as this, but when I do I will let you know!.

Victoria's Secret Pink Sweet & Tart Scented Body Lotion ($15 ~ 3.4fl oz)

I usually change up my everyday fragrance once a season, and for the past two or three summers, I've been pulling out this lotion. It smells like pink grapefruit and it just really screams "summer" to me. However, I don't believe Victoria's Secret makes this particular scent anymore. However, the Sweet & Flirty scent consists of "sugar berry and pink grapefruit," so if you're looking for an alternative, I say go into the store and sample that one. Also, remember that fragrances smell different on everyone, so it's always important to try it out before you buy!

Makeup:

This product was a monthly favorite back in March, and I've talked about it in plenty of posts since then. Bronzer is one of those no-nonsense products for me: either I like it or I don't, and I have some specific demands for bronzer. You would think to find a pigmented, non-muddy/orange, matte bronzer, that you would have to go to a department store or specialty store, but that is false! This bronzer gives me a natural tan, and I can apply it lightly all over my face or just concentrate it under my cheekbones for a little contouring. It's a really great product to have if you're fair-skinned like me, despite the Talc

I'm not even going to bore you guys with this one. I received this in May's Ipsy Glam Bag and it's been in post after post since then. Though if you're in America, I would recommend getting a Canadian friend to send you one, because international shipping is $25!

This has been a favorite product of mine since March and I adore it. It brightens up my eyes, and despite my dark circles, it makes me look awake and refreshed. It's the best, and it's known to be a dupe for the YSL Touche Eclat, which costs 5x more. Awesome!

Apparently I really loved concealers this month! This has been sitting in the back of my makeup drawer since April and I never really picked it up until this month. I realized that I absolutely LOVE it. Partnered with the Maybelline highlighter above, my eyes look ten times better in the morning. I put a little bit on my finger and blend it out under my eyes rather than applying it from the tube, both for sanitary reasons and because my body heat helps the concealer blend in a little better. I'm nowhere near being out of this, but I would repurchase it as soon as I use it up!

Fashion:

Clay Beaded Bracelets

Once again, the beaded bracelets that my friend got me from Ghana have made it into a Monthly Favorites! They're super cute and casual and I've been wearing them almost every day! Usually I'll wear them both together, but sometimes I'll just wear one by itself depending on my mood. There are probably a ton of fun alternatives on Etsy if you're interested. I feel like handmade jewelry thrives on Etsy.

Music:

Fall Out Boy - Save Rock & Roll

I have been completely obsessed with this album for weeks. I've probably listened to it almost once a day since I got it. The middle school girl in me is ecstatic that her favorite band is back together, and, well, I'm just as excited. This album is everything I wanted Infinity on High to be and more. It's so much fun, and just in time for summer!

T.V. Show

It's a two-way tie between Modern Family and The I.T. Crowd. These two shows make me laugh so hard. I guess Modern Family is for when I'm in the mood for American humor and The I.T. Crowd is for when I'm feeling more British comedy. What can I say? I just really love to laugh!

App

Yes, I am still playing Tiny Tower. I have 31 floors, which includes a Haunted House, a Scoops shop, and a Barber Shop. It's free on the iTunes store, and it's one of those in-the-waiting-room games, or on-the-train games. It's really mindless, so you can be tired and brain-dead in the morning and still play it.
Well, that's everything. There aren't a lot of new products on this list, but I'm happy I've found some great staples in my makeup collection. I have a feeling I'll start to get bored next month and start playing with products a lot more, so expect a big July Favorites post!

What were your favorite things this month?
