Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge: Athena (#3)

Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge: Athena (#3)

Hi, friends! Today's post is the third installment in the Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge. Each week, a few of my blogger friends and I are taking on a new Greek goddess and using her as inspiration for a makeup look! I'll be sharing what products I used and how I used them, so you can recreate my look at home when you want to channel your inner goddess. And if we have different tastes, that's fine--there will be a bunch of different bloggers' looks to choose from!

Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge: Athena (#3)

Today's goddess is Athena. In Greek mythology, she was the goddess of wisdom, literature, and war strategy. She was also fierce as hell in battle. In other words, she was one bada$$.

I imagine that Athena didn't have much time for makeup, so I wanted to do something in all neutral colors. Something easy to wear, natural-looking and light that didn't look like she was wearing a ton of makeup. Of course, I still wore a full face of makeup for this look (because otherwise where's the fun in that?), but that was the plan!

But enough about that. Let's get to the good stuff~

I opted for my usual summer foundation routine, since I wanted something light coverage for the busy lifestyle of Athena. I had a few blemishes that I covered with a concealer, but otherwise I let my skin show through. A quick swipe of bronzer, blush, and highlighter and I was done!

Now for the fun part: the eyes! I went with this mauve-toned trio from Stila for something that would be visible but not too dressed up. A little eyeliner (smudged with a Q-tip, of course) and mascara, and voila!

LIPS

This lipstick from MAC is a little melty, but I still love it. I'm actually almost out (the tube turned up as far as it can go), so I'll have to find a suitable substitute once I run out! Any suggestions?

Well, that's everything! After a quick misting of L'Oreal's Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray, I was done!

This look was easy to wear to work (a unlike last week's smokey Artemis makeup) and I can definitely see myself wearing it again. What do you think?

Not your style? That's fine! Check out the other bloggers' looks below! Want to join in the fun? Email itsmejiawun@hotmail.com.

Stay tuned for next week's--we're doing Demeter!

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it? It's all Greek to me!
